Attendance expectations are as they have always been. Students are expected to show up to class by logging in to their Microsoft account and participating in their classes. This might mean submitting an assignment, chiming in to a class discussion on Microsoft Teams, or connecting one-on-one with a teacher. At the end of the day, we require at least one form of timestamped engagement visible to each of the student's teachers each day by 8:00 p.m. in order to mark the student as present. Students should check with their teachers to determine their individual attendance expectations.
We will follow our normal procedure for excusing student absences. If a student is absent and excused due to illness or another reason, the parent must notify the instructor and the school via email to marniebillstone@coloradoearlycolleges.org

Most instructors are hosting live classes at their usual class times to provide the opportunity to interact in real time if possible, but they will provide an alternative way to access the class for students who cannot make this time. All work assignments or other interaction required for the day must be completed by 8:00 p.m. that day or the student will be marked absent. If there are extenuating circumstances preventing the work to be completed by 8:00 p.m. the student must email the teacher to let them know the assignment will be completed later that evening. Student may reach out to teachers during the regular school hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Every class day! Attendance will still be taken every class day in each class. How attendance is taken may vary from class to class, but students are expected to log in to participate in each class every day of the week. For specifics, students should talk to their teachers regarding expectations for each class.
We understand that not all families may have access to the technology their student needs to participate in e-learning, and we are working hard to help each student attain the necessary equipment to continue classes from a remote setting.

We will still be conducting our advising appointments at the times you have scheduled, but they will be virtual. The platform we will be using for these appointments is Microsoft Teams. Below is the information you will need to access your advising appointment:

  1. At your scheduled advising time, be sure you are logged into your Microsoft Teams account. If you are using your phone, make sure the camera/microphone option is on.
  2. Your advisor will then call you using the Microsoft Teams app.
  3. Accept the call using either the camera icon or telephone icon.
  4. Your advising appointment has begun.

If you have any further questions about this, please feel free to reach out to your advisor.

We don't know! It all depends on how things progress with COVID-19. We will continue to monitor multiple news sources and follow the guidelines set forth by the Tri-County Public Health Department and the state of Colorado. Trust that announcements will be sent out to CEC families as soon as decisions are made.
Enrollment for the 2020-21 school year is still in process. Prospective students and families can attend our Informational Meetings through our online webinars. You can register for an upcoming webinar here.
