How College Direct Differs

At Colorado Early Colleges Parker (CECP), all students have the opportunity to graduate with their Associate Degree, 60 college credits, and/or a certificate while in High School for FREE.

The CECP College Direct Option will offer the same benefits, but students will attend classes directly on the campus of one of our 10 college partners. Every 9th to 12th-grade student will receive individualized academic and career advising every semester they attend CEC through our satellite location in Highlands Ranch.

How is it different from being a CECP
On-Campus Student?

  • You take all of your classes at one of our approved colleges near you
  • You receive your advising and testing services at our Highlands Ranch location.
  • You register for your approved classes through your college student portal
  • Your attendance and grades are accessed through your college student portal
  • Parents must sign a FERPA form to access their student’s portal, records, or speak with instructors.
  • You may access support and tutoring services through the CEC Parker Campus and the college.
  • You may be a part-time student.**
  • Special events and activities are planned just for our satellite students
  • You will be taking regular community college courses with people from diverse backgrounds.

How is it the same as being a CECP
On-Campus Student?

  • You receive the same level of individualized academic and career advising as our CECP on-campus students
  • You may still participate in all CECP activities such as Field Day, Homecoming, and Prom
  • You may access support and tutoring services through the CEC Parker Campus and the college.
  • You may still play CHSAA sports through a high school of your choice
  • You are required to take all state standardized testing including PSAT, SAT, and CMAS.
  • Full-time students are required to meet state mandates for high-school courses.
  • You may be a part-time student.**

** Part-time students are those taking 3-6 credits per semester. Your part-time status is  established for the entire school year and CECP does not issue your high school diploma.
