Colorado Early Colleges Parker is proud to announce that it now has a National Honor Society chapter! Since its inception in 1921, NHS has been recognizing students who excel in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The organization is more than just an honor roll. Rather, it provides students the opportunity to give back to their school and to the larger community.

Student members are expected to complete thirty hours of community service annually through a school service project and an individual service project. In addition, NHS members will have the opportunity to plan fun school events and the privilege to attend field trips. If the student is a senior, they will qualify to apply for the NHS scholarship. National Honor Society membership primarily involves service, but it also is a great way for students demonstrate to future colleges and employers scholarship and leadership.

The membership requirements are an unweighted GPA of 3.5 and above. The student must document their involvement in service and leadership activities. In addition, they must complete a one page essay that demonstrates character (see student information form). If this is an organization that you would be interested in, please complete the attached student information form below and return it to Ms. Harris by October 31st 2017. Submission of the student information form does not guarantee acceptance. A faculty committee will review applications and make their final decisions in December.
